Robin Gruver

Classes Taught
Pre-natal

Robin Gruver, ICCE is a prenatal yoga instructor and certified Childbirth Educator. She began her practice in 1975 in Hawaii with senior Iyengar yoga instructors.

She has witnessed and participated in the evolution of prenatal yoga, having studied with Sandra Jordan, author of “Yoga for Pregnancy." Robin was featured as a first trimester yogini in this book while pregnant with her first son.

Additionally, she helped choreograph and starred in a televised prenatal yoga show during her second pregnancy.  She began teaching Prenatal Yoga in 1983 and has been teaching Childbirth classes in the Conejo Valley since 1988 and intertwines her knowledge of childbirth in her yoga classes.

Robin’s classes use breathing practices, poses to stretch and strengthen the body to support a healthy pregnancy, and relaxation techniques to help prepare the mind and body for the amazing cycle of pregnancy, birth and motherhood.  A relaxation at the end of class helps to develop an inner focus and inner wisdom, as well as empower the mother-to-be, as she prepares for her child’s birth. Students are encouraged to discover the value of mindfulness in their transformation towards parenthood.  Working with new moms and sharing her own experiences serves as a constant inspiration for Robin.
